Who we are at C.O.P.E.

Welcome to C.O.P.E.: community, outreach, partnership, experience. We are a nonprofit ministry dedicated to supporting individuals facing social, mental, physical, spiritual, or substance abuse barriers to success. Our goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where everyone can find understanding and support.

Our inspiration and mission

At C.O.P.E., we believe that our experiences, especially those where we've overcome trauma and obstacles, equip us with unique strengths and skills. These experiences make us uniquely capable of guiding and supporting others through similar journeys. We are inspired to help those who face crises and challenges that not everyone understands, offering a hand based on shared experience and empathy.

Creating a safe and supportive space

C.O.P.E. is committed to fostering a secure environment for everyone. We offer Zoom support groups, topic-driven lectures, and uploaded testimonials, all within a framework of anonymity and an agreed code of conduct. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy against bullying, exploitation, or any untherapeutic conduct, ensuring that all interactions are respectful and constructive. Anyone who violates these guidelines will face immediate removal from our platform.

Becoming a C.O.P.E. member

Becoming a member of the C.O.P.E. community means gaining access to a wealth of resources and support. Members can participate in revolving self-help conference calls on Zoom, receive one-on-one peer support, and potentially benefit from case management and a resource database tailored to individual needs. We also offer a "Kids' Place" section with activities for disadvantaged children, a calendar of events, a 24-hour crisis line, clothing and food donations, kids' sports, housing resources, and volunteer opportunities. Additionally, we provide life skills training, including cooking and parenting support, all designed to enrich our community and build essential life habits.

"The support I found at C.O.P.E. has been life-changing. Knowing there's a place where I'm understood and can connect with others who truly get it has made all the difference."
